STS Division started out as Samyang Metal Industries, which began stainless steel cold rolling in 1962. It later became the SBS Division of Taihan Electric Wire Co., Ltd. When POSCO AST was launched in 2009, it became part of the POSCO Family, the best steel company in Korea. Main uses of STS plates

Quality characteristics
Bendability and corrosion resistance are required, and particularly surface gloss and color management are important.
Tubs have recently been switching to 200-series steel grade.

When the liquefied natural gas is transported, it is 196℃ below zero, but it is 20-30℃ above zero after transportation. Quality characteristics
430J1L: As Cu and Nb are added to 430 grade, it has excellent corrosion resistance, formability, weldability and high temperature oxidation resistance.
409L: As Ti is added, it has excellent weldability and processibility. So it is used in exhaust systems, heat exchangers and heat-resistant machines.
429EM: As Si, Ti, Mn and Cu are added, and C and N contents are reduced, it has excellent high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance.
436L: As Mo, Ti and Nb are added, it has excellent corrosion resistance, processibility, and weldability, and is used for water heaters and home appliances.
